GlaxoSmithKline to host bike travel plan conference
02/05/2006 NewsAccording to the Association for Commuter Transport this one-day conference is designed to “illustrate how cycling fits in to various types of travel planning: what opportunities exist, why they work, and how they work alongside other initiatives, outlining the range of expected impacts; modal shift, social, community, and financial benefits for user and business, showing how they work as part of an organisation’ pragmatic transport policy.”
The conference is being hosted at the HQ of the global pharmaceutical corporate because GlaxoSmithKline has adopted state-of-the-art cycling facilities for its staff.
The keynote speakers will be high profile figures, who will “give insights into the case for increased cycling at the workplace and an overview of the progress that has been made.”
