10/02/2005 NewsCycle Training UK, London’s largest independent provider of on-road cycle training will be featured on a documentary that puts cycling in central London to the test. The programme, Inside Out,is due to air on BBC1 London on Monday 28th February at 7:30 pm.
Cycling Instructor, David Dansky, leads BBC presenter, Sumit Bose, through the new National Standard for Cycle Training and teaches him how to cycle assertively on some of London’s busiest roads. By the end of his training
Bose is confidently cycling down Park Lane, round Hyde Park Corner, and then completes a lap of Parliament Square for good measure.
“I found the whole experience intriguing,” said Bose.
“Before my training I had no idea you could cycle round London safely. I learnt some practical measures to make it safer, and the training gave me the confidence to cycle in London.”
Dansky said:
“Sumit realised cycling is a safe activity that can be made even safer with training. He responded well to the lesson, as most trainees do, by understanding the importance of his road positioning so that he could see, be seen, and communicate effectively with other road users.”
