Vote for best bike infra in inaugural Cycle Planning Awards
02/07/2015 AdvocacyLandor Links, publisher of public transport and mobility magazines, has launched Cycle Planning Awards 2015 to reward “excellence and innovation in cycle provision, infrastructure, parking and behaviour change.”
The awards ceremony will be on 14th September and hosted by the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The awards are supported by the Department for Transport
The Active Travel Network and Local Transport Today developed the first Cycle Planning Awards to acknowledge and reward those that have excelled in design and delivery of cycle-related infrastructure. The Cycle Planning Awards will cover Great Britain and Ireland.
The judges are:
Philip Darnton, Chair; Rosie Downes, London Cycling Campaign; Brian Deegan, Transport for London; Erik Tetteroo, Dutch Cycling Embassy; Carlton Reid, BikeBiz; Tony Russell, Sustrans; Martin Key, British Cycling; John Parkin, University West of England; John Dales, Transport Planning Society; Rachel Aldred, Westminster University; Roger Geffen, CTC; and Bryony Dyer, Department for Transport.
The categories are:
Best innovation
Best cycling network strategy and/or masterplan
Best cycle network infrastructure project (built since 2010)
Best behaviour change campaign
Best workplace for cycling
Best integrated community hub or cycle scheme (cycle parking, cycle hire, hub or cafe)
Local Authority with most cycle friendly policies
Cycling Champion of the Year
Nominations are submitted online.
