Sustrans wins fundraising campaign award
11/07/2006 NewsThe Fundraising Awards are organised by the Institute of Fundraising and Professional Fundraising Magazine to recognise outstanding achievement by charities, fundraisers and volunteers.
Hosted by Richard Hammond from the BBC’s Top Gear programme, the Awards were presented last night by a selection of the most influential and well-respected fundraisers and figureheads from across the sector to an audience of 750 people. This is the second time that Sustrans has picked up an award at the ceremony, last year the charity scooped the top prize for ‘Best Use of the Telephone in Fundraising 2005′.
Jenny Sheriff, Sustrans’s fundraising director, said; “To win an award at this prestigious national ceremony for the second year running is fantastic. With projects like the National Cycle Network and Safe Routes to Schools we are really making a difference to the way people travel. Whether it’s cycling to the shops or walking to work, Sustrans is working hard to develop the facilities, enthusiasm and funding for projects which help people choose a healthier way to move around and the money we raise is vital in continuing this work.”
